MANAGING DIRECTOR, FRACTIONAL CFO & FOUNDER

Christopher Whitaker is a seasoned professional with 25 years of experience in finance, accounting and operational efficiency. His leadership and management experience at both public and private companies, of varying sizes, gives him a unique ability to identify issues, provide solutions and improve business operations and financial health.

As Managing Director for AEGIS Financial Consulting, Chris oversees the company and offers clients experienced financial and accounting services to overcome challenges, take advantage of opportunities, and assist in growing their businesses.

​Prior to founding AEGIS Financial Consulting, Chris held roles including Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance & Business Operations, Director of Finance and Treasury, Controller and SEC Financial Reporting Manager for companies such as Alacer Gold Corp, Schlumberger-Sema, Forest Oil Corp., Queenstake Resources Corp. and Vista Gold Corp. Chris started his finance career with KMPG LLP in Denver, Colorado as an audit associate where he spent three years in the practice before moving to industry.

His industry experience spans across telecommunications, software, oil & gas, mining, banking, education and non-profits. Chris has a BA in accounting, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is a member of the AICPA, Colorado Society of CPA's and Financial Executives International.

Chris lives in Denver, Colorado with his long-time partner, Melanie. He is an avid scuba diver and contributes his free time to youth development initiatives in education and sports.
